Media has the power to change the world: it shares our stories, it drives culture, it shapes our lives. Tree Media Group is a production company founded 13 years ago by sisters Leila Conners and Nadia Conners with a mission to use media to support and sustain civil society while promoting peace through understanding.

Tree Media was founded when the emergence of new technologies allowed for a more democratic dissemination of ideas. Over the last 13 years, Tree Media has consistently worked on projects that examine consciousness, global transformation, conflict resolution, care & sustainability, the environment, cultural catalysts and progressive movements.

Tree Media caters to an audience that wants to better understand the world. We are operating in a time in which human civilization is being confronted with significant challenges – the life-support systems of the planet are deteriorating, resources are becoming scarce and we are undergoing a dramatic shift in the fundamentals of our economic system around the world. The strain of this uncertainty and rapid change is plunging human consciousness into the fires of transformation. Tree looks for and brings to light stories that help us understand and navigate our time with an aim to inspire us all to create a common, beautiful future.

Tree Media creates “media that matters" - entertaining, profitable media that also has deeper meaning. As a production company, we strive for a “triple bottom line” – projects that produce social benefit, environmental benefit

as well as the benefit of profit. For the most part, Tree Media’s projects originate internally however Tree Media also partners with like-minded projects when they fit into the goals of our slate.

The operating assumption of Tree Media’s production slate is that the ecosystem of the mind needs cultivation and care. The mediasphere, awash with information, often assaults us with violent images, random facts and meaningless stories that have no depth or purpose. Tree believes that taking time to create stories that connect to deeper truths will inspire, educate and entertain. Storytelling needs to happen from a place of inspiration, love and the joy of sharing; rather than from a place of fear. And, as Paul Ray and Sherry Anderson point out in their book The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million Americans are Changing the World, there is a vast group of people who do not see their stories, myths or lives represented in the media. Tree’s stories attract this new culture in America and has spanned the spectrum of media including film and TV projects, web, motion media shorts, digital libraries and workspaces and online action communities.

Over the coming years, Tree Media will expand our production slate and start an educational division called Treemagination. Treemagination will create educational curriculum for youth, parents and teachers inspired by Tree Media’s projects.
